breastfeeding support
Looking for breastfeeding support and guidance on your feeding process?
Feeding your baby is one of the first joys and challenges of motherhood and parenthood. I bring the same reflective attitude to my breastfeeding support, offering space and time to listen and observe, before offering guidance, support and advice.
Wherever you are in your feeding journey with your baby, it's ok to ask for support. You might be in pain, unsure if your baby is latching properly or gaining weight, looking to increase your milk supply, looking to sustain breastfeeding while returning to work, or wondering if it's time to stop breastfeeding.
One of the most important parts of breastfeeding support is listening to the parents.
As such an initial appointment includes time for you to talk about the birth, your medical history, as well as an observation of feeding and, if necessary, an assessment of the baby’s mouth and palate. We will then come up with a plan together that is realistic and desirable to you and that supports your parenting and feeding intentions.

From one of the families I've had the privilege of walking alongside from pregnancy through to postnatal movement.
I found Jess's offering very serendipitously at Kenwood Ladies' Ponds when I was in the early stages of pregnancy. I had been seeking out classes/spaces/support that went beyond just exercise for pregnancy or the mechanics of birth—support that felt person-centred, holistic and in some way recognised the huge transformation that pregnancy and birth brings about in a woman.
Jess's sessions were completely unique and carefully thought-out - she brings her deep knowledge of midwifery and dance, as well as enormous compassion and care. I felt that she journeyed alongside me through the months of my pregnancy, and gave her full attention as well as her genuine care to my wellbeing (in ways I may have wished for my NHS midwives to do). As the months went by, she helped me to integrate the challenges and changes within my body and soul—and to feel fully prepared for my son's birth. In addition to the wonderful music, movement, meditation, visualisation—we explored the female body in a way that felt integrative and profound—for example, I had never fully reflected on my pelvis or my cervix, these areas which are so important to connect to when it comes to birth. When my labour began, I felt genuine excitement and preparedness for the journey that was about to unfold. After my son was born (not according to my plan but according to the cosmic plan apparently!), I felt comforted to see Jess and have her wonderful support on our breastfeeding journey. As the months passed, we continued to come together for post-birth practices—including a beautiful ritual which I found moving and healing in equal measure.
I felt I was the luckiest woman to have Jess's sessions to look forward to each week, to ground me and encourage me... and often reflected how much I wish others could have the same. I'll always treasure the memories of our sessions, and forever know that Jess helped me to carry and bring my son safely into the world.
